I was always the one bringing home a stray, sitting on the floor with an injured bird, or begging to keep “just one more” soul who needed care. Even then, I knew animals weren’t just pets to me, they were family, they were purpose.

As life unfolded, fitness became another constant in my world. It shaped my strength, my discipline, and my resilience. But no matter where life took me, my path always circled back to animals, to their healing presence, their silent loyalty, and the way they love without conditions.

Buddy came into my life at a time when I needed saving just as much as he did. He wasn’t just a rescue; he was a turning point. In learning to help him feel safe, loved, and whole, he quietly did the same for me. We didn’t just find each other… we rescued each other.
